On the surface it seems strange that a prophet like Jeremiah should have so many enemies. Here in verse 18 we see individuals making plans to see if they could make Jeremiah look foolish. If we speak the Truth clearly and openly, we too will have people plotting against us. We may really see more trials for us in the future as a consequence of our speaking out.
