Just supposition, but given that he was kin to Bathsheba, he might not have liked what David did to her first husband, prompting his rebellion against him?
Also brings to mind the type of Judas: Psa 41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
