It looks like there are four occasions in scripture where someone is killed by being smitten "under the fifth rib."
What is the significance of the fifth rib? Any ideas?
- Abner kills Asahel (2 Samuel 2:23)
- Joab kills Abner (2 Samuel 3:27)
- Rechab and Baanah kill Ish-bosheth (2 Samuel 4:6)
- Joab kills Amasa (2 Samuel 20:10)
What is the significance of the fifth rib? Any ideas?
