From this chapter we find much of the wealth that David and Solomon accumulated, especially the gold, was taken to Egypt by Shishak. It seems a little sad at what they gained was so soon taken away. We too can accumulate wealth for our children or just for ourselves and it can be taken away in an instant. So the real wealth is not what we labor so hard for, but that which God promises us if we follow him.
