This chapter is a warning by God through Jeremiah to the Philistines. The Egyptian Pharoah Neco would return through Gaza after his battle with the Caldeans and Israel. It was here that King Josiah was killed. In this warning it was described that even the fathers would lose natural affection and would not protect their children.
