Eze 15:3 Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?
Out of Judah, Zechariah prophecied, should come forth the nail (ch. 10:4) and though the inhabitants of Jerusalem were as a vine unfit for any work, and from which there could not be taken a pin (or nail) fit to hang any vessel upon (Ezek. 15.), yet God provided Himself a nail out of the tribe of Judah (“It is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah,” Heb. 7:14), and in the line of David, that was fit and proper for the end proposed.
