Prejudging

Jonah is a special prophet with an attitude like many of us.  He knew all about the cruel people of Nineveh.  He knew their cruel history and he did not want God to have any compassion on them especially letting them escape the punishment of death and destruction.  Nineveh is the capital of Assyria and Jonah might have known that they would be instrumental in the destruction of Israel in the future. Why have compassion on those that will take Israel captive?  God has a plan and those that were in Nineveh at this time must have had knowledge of God because they did repent from their evil ways. We know the story and we must be careful that we don't prejudge people before giving them a chance for life.
