Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God is thought, by some, to be Sham, son of Noah.
He met Abraham after the slaughter of the kings and gave Abraham a blessing. His priesthood did not come by the lineage of the Levites so when they say, after the order of Melchisedec, it means he was not a Levite, required by the Mosaic Law, Christ was from the tribe of Judah.
