The last chapter, Nahum, prophesied the fall of the terrible and destructive nation of Assyria and it's capital Nineveh. It compares the rise and fall of Egypt in vs.. 8-10 with what would eventually happen to Assyria. The destruction was complete and eventually Nineveh disappeared in the sand only to be found by modern day excavators. God's judgment is complete and we must all stay firm in our faith toward God.
