We are all given a varying degree of Talents. Its up to each of us to do everything we can to grow our talents, and exhibit them in the way God has appointed. We cant be happy with the status quo. WE HAVE TO GROW, otherwise we might be called "unprofitable". The wise of this world knows how to be "profitable". They can put all their energy, thoughts, and actions into growing their "wealth". If only we could use the same amount of zeal to grow in the Truth.
The unprofitable servant knew who his Lord was, and believed in him, and even knew that he would return to take an account of his actions....but he didn't push himself. He didn't grow. Baptism isn't enough. That gets us into the arena. Then the race begins. Let us not be caught staring into the grandstands thinking how "good" we are to be in the race, or stuck on the starting line with no energy to move, but instead one who is running hard, filled with the spirit word, not distracted by the outside influences, but focused on pleasing our Lord and trying to reach the end. If we do, and are found worthy, then there will be varying degrees of rewards given depending on how each ran, and then Jesus says “he will give to every man according as his work shall be” (Rev. 22:12), “some thirty fold, some sixty fold, and some an hundred fold,”

Here are a few activities on how we can apply our talents. We can visit the sick, visit the elderly, share our wealth, feed the poor, comfort those in sorrow, be teachers, volunteer our time (this is our most precious commodity), those that are conversationalist-use that talent to speak of God, visit those confined in the nursing home, make ourselves available to pray for brothers and sisters in time of trouble, entertain strangers and be a good listener. And the King shall answer and say unto them, "verily I say unto you, inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren ye have done it unto me."
