The first born of Judah and his daughter-in-Law (Tamar) was Pharez, who is mentioned in Mat 1:3 as one of the lines through whom Christ came.
It is interesting that the lineage of Christ had
a) Tamar (? also a caananite?)
b) Rahab (a caananite) Jos 2:1 "...came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there."
c) Ruth, a Moabite
d) Bathsheba was the wife of Uriah the Hittite (was she Jewish or Hittite?)
