The first born of Judah and his daughter-in-Law (Tamar) was Pharez, who is mentioned in Mat 1:3 as one of the lines through whom Christ came.
It is interesting that the lineage of Christ had
a) Tamar (? also a caananite?) b) Rahab (a caananite) Jos 2:1 "...came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there." c) Ruth, a Moabite d) Bathsheba was the wife of Uriah the Hittite (was she Jewish or Hittite?)

Well, in a sense-no because God picked many kinds of people to do his work. Remember Paul the Apostle was Saul, who stoned prophets and those who served God. This is why we are to treat everyone with respect, because they may be an angel or they may be a big part of God's plan.
