In general we live in a very busy time, so much so that we give little time for God unless we have an immediate personal need for his help. It is our duty to take exception to the times and be still and listen to God. It is hard to listen for the noises of TV, radios, computers, cars honking, and loud talking. A similar thought comes from 1Kings 19:10 where Elijah says this, " I have been very jealous for The Lord God of Host: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine alters and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life and take it away. And he said, go forth, and stand upon the mount before The Lord. And,behold, The Lord passed by. And a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and break in pieces the rocks before The Lord; but The Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but The Lord was not in the earthquake: and after the earthquake a fire; but The Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice." We need to calm our lives down and search for God.
