There are those Christians who think the Old Testament has been fulfilled and "folded up and put away". They feel that it is no longer applicable to us. But, in verse 4 Paul says that those things that were written afore time were written for our understanding. Had we not been provided the Old Testament we could never understand the Gospel. We are told that at first the Gospel was preached to Abraham. It is through the study of both testaments we find patience and comfort. Occasionally you see Bibles that have only the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. How sad that they limit their understanding.
