Iron sharpeneth iron. A threefold cord is not quickly broken. We have to take advantage of our brothers and sisters (in a good sense of the word), and feed off each other, push each other, comfort each other, increasing each others zeal and picking each other up when we stumble.
People do better when they have a friend to help them along the way. Its not required, but helpful. Reminds me of Elijah, thinking he was all alone with no one else believing in Yahweh. He felt isolated and discouraged without a companion. If we don't utilize our brethren, then we might start utilizing our neighbors or coworkers for support, and might start getting influenced by them.
