Mark 6:11 and Matthew 10:15 are the records of the same speech given by Jesus. In Mark 6:11 the part concerning Sodom and Gomorrah are not in the original and are not included in many translations as the NIV, NAS, and NRSV. Matt. 10:15 records the words about Sodom and Gomorrah. In the King James or Authorized Version the phrase was added, but are not in the original. The phrase is recorded in the original in Matt.10:15. Some one thought that it was all right to add that phrase to the Authorized Version in Mark 6:11.
I have not found that explanation in any book, but I feel that it has to explain the reasoning of why AV has the phrase and the other translations do not. Please comment if I am mistaken.
