Interesting Central article on this....
"To go back to Egypt was a sinful snare and delusion. The Authorised Version of 30:7 says, “For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.” But the word “strength” in this verse is the same Hebrew word translated “Rahab” in 51:9, and also in Psalms 87:4 and 89:10 where it refers to Egypt. The same word is rendered “proud” in Job 9:13 and 26:12, while the related verb occurs in Isaiah 3:5, translated “shall behave himself proudly”. These references lend support to the Revised Version of Isaiah 30:7: “For Egypt helpeth in vain, and to no purpose; therefore have I called her Rahab that sitteth still.” Egypt, to whom Israel looked for help, was an arrogant boaster who did nothing to help. Yet this was the nation that Israel sought rather than seek their strength and have quiet confidence in the Holy One of Israel."
