"Desire is not in itself sin, if controlled be the enlightened judgement. For example, it is lawful to desire food when hungry, but unlawful to steal a loaf. 'He that looketh on a woman to lust after her' is a man who harbours and cultivates illegitimate desires.
The mere impulse to sin is not sin. Sin consists in giving way to impulse in thought or deed. (James 1:14)
