I have heard so many misquote this verse. Most say...willing rather to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord. Most that do that are preachers trying to find a verse that supports going to heaven. These are people like Paul had to contend with, he speaks about them in 2 Cor. 11:13, for such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. Paul said in 1Cor. 15:23 But everyman in his own order: Christ the first fruit; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

There is time between -- to be absent from the body. And to be present with The Lord. To have a resurrection and a judgement.
