"2 Cor. 9:9.—This is a quotation from Psalm 112:9, which says concerning “the righteous” that “his righteousness endureth for ever.”
The righteousness of the righteous will be perpetuated for ever by their existence being prolonged for ever, for “his horn shall be exalted with honour” (verse 9), whilst “the desire of the wicked shall perish.”—(verse 10.) Then “the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance” (verse 6), which can scarcely be affirmed in relation to the present and past ages, seeing that those who are righteous in God’s eyes have almost always been, and still are, unrecognised as such during their life, and not “remembered” as such after their death. The wicked are held “in everlasting remembrance” in the present day, rather than the righteous. If this be a correct explanation of the passage, aion here of course signifies eternity." .
