This first parable reminds me of Luke 11:7 where the friend knocks on the door at nighttime, and the one inside says, "the doors shut, go away". But because of "importunity" (his shamelessness in demanding), he arose and gave as many loaves as he needed. "This showed that our own receivings at the hands of the Father depend to some extent upon the perseverance of our supplications."
Here the unjust judge says "Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me."
So we have to be persistent and constantly praying. However, Christ then gives us the next parable, showing us we have to approach God in the right way and with humility, realizing we are nothing. If we do it for a show, to make ourselves look better, then instead of being acceptable, we become obnoxious.
