Prov 21:16 "The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead"
One could read this verse and think that only righteous will be raised, and those that once knew the truth, but left the truth, would remain in the grave. But this of course would be wrong.
Answers to correspondents By the Editor. H. W.—When Solomon said (Prov. 21:16) “The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead,” he was referring to the permanent hold of death on the children of folly without reference to the resurrection, which is a mere incident on the way. Some of them come forth to the resurrection of condemnation, and some do not, according to their relation to light, as is clearly testified in various parts of the Scripture: but all of them as a finality “remain” in the congregation of the dead, who are “out of the way of understanding” whether they wander out of that way or have never been in it.
