9 Only take heed to thyself, and hkeep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but iteach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;
This is extemely important. I know that we all teach our children but we must understand how important it is. Lets say that my grandfather was really strong in the truth, and he taught my father which was pretty stong in the truth, but because of wordly influences allows things his father never would. Then I am taught the truth but I have even more worldly influences, so I dont teach my children as much as I should, now they are weaker in the truth than I am. This is a terrible cycle that does indeed happen each generation.
How many more generations can the truth we believe now survive? We can see proof of the changes the baptists went thru, now believing sometimes the opposite of what they did in the beginning. The same will happen to us if we are not careful. The children of Israel rarely became wicked over night. It crept in slowly at first.
