Euroclydon (yo̅o̅-rahkʹlee-dohn), in the rsv, jb, and niv (Acts 27:14) ‘the northeaster,’ a violent, springtime, northeast wind that blew Paul’s ship, en route to Rome, south of Crete. The best manuscripts read eurakylōn (from Gk. euros, ‘east wind,’ and Lat. aquilo, ‘northeast wind’).
