Paul shows us in verse 9 & 10 how the Thessalonians had turned to the living God. They had been idol worshippers, but were now serving the true God. Paul specifically shows how they are now waiting for Christ to come and raise the dead and be delivered from this evil world. Paul tells us in verse 12, that we have something to do, and that is walk worthy of God. That means we are to be doers of the word and not idle bystanders.
