And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap. (Joshua 3:13 KJV)
So would you think where the Ark was that spot was basically blocked at that point creating a dam? And at the end of chapter do you think the water spread out? It was a flooding river at that point is the way I read it

It does sound like it, ....an invisible wall of power holding it back, yet it was obvious to all that it happened as a direct results of the priests holding the ark stepping into the water. I suspect the wall was visible to them, otherwise there might be questions as to what happened way up stream to stop the flow.
Also interesting in that the ark represents Christ, and its passing through the water temporarily stopped the descending flow towards a dead lake. Our life is also constantly flowing towards death, unless we connect ourself with Christ, who will eventually heal the land and heal the people, reversing the flow of water permanently from death to life. Also interesting in that it mentions the waters flooded to the town Adam that is beside Zaretan (which means "pierced"). Interesting, do you think this was significant? how would you put it into the analogy?

Yes I think it is significant, It would have to go along with making that thought proved.
