There are several Abimelechs in Gen.,being Gen 20 and in Gen 26. They are two separate individuals with that name. It is possible that it is a title for the king of Gerar. Gen. 20 deals with Abraham and Sarah and Gen. 26, deals with Rebekah, Isaac's wife. In both instances the wives are referred to as their sisters. In both cases the wives could have been concubines if it had not been for God's intervention.
