Judah occupies 1/3 of the whole country on the west side of Jordan. It has about 2300 sq. miles. The highest point is near Hebron which is 3500 feet above sea level. As we see from this chapter, Judah included many cities, which means the children of Israel had to conquer each city to be able to inhabit it.
