The misunderstanding concerning the alter made by the three tribes was a sign that Israel at that time was trying to please God. They remembered the incidents of the past when the whole congregation suffered from the sins of a few. Even today the whole brotherhood can suffer from the sins of a few, an example is divorce and remarriage of brothers and sisters. This has caused grave consequences for many. What we all do can effect each of us, as we are one hugh family in The Lord.
