James 3:1 - "My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation."
The word "masters" is better rendered as "teachers" (Diaglott).
"[James] warns against the urge to assume the responsibility of a teacher... stressed the grave responsibility resting upon them. It is a Scriptural principle that 'to whom much is given of him shall be much required' (Luke 12:48)... [The apostles] recognised the need of putting their preaching into practice. In the absence of such an attempt, it is better to remain silent." (James to Jude Expositor, page 49).

As the quote above alludes to, if we teach something to someone, we need to make sure our actions are congruent. Reminds me of the saying: "Do as I say, not as I do". We have to live what we believe and what we teach.
