The period of the judges was a strange time in the history of Israel. As God was working with Jephthah and his daughter and all the other judges so was he with Samson. To desire the philistine women for a Hebrew, was unthinkable but verse 4 of chapter 14 states,"but his father and his mother knew not that it was of The Lord, that he sought an occasion against the philistines: ...."
