We can summarize the events of Judges chapters 17-21 with two identical verses: "In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes." (Judges 17:6 & Judges 21:25)
Chapter 17 follows the death of Samson, and it does not appear that any further judges are named until we read of Eli in 1 Samuel. It is also interesting that the scriptures record that "there was no king in Israel" in those days in three consecutive chapters (Judges 17:6, 18:1, 19:1).
The incidents recorded in these chapters 17-21 describe the wickedness of Israel. This sounds very much like the times we live in today. We look for our Master's return, when, at last, there will be a righteous king in Israel.

The City of Dan in the north became one of the two cities of the calves. Anyone remember the other city?

1Ki 12:28 Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves [of] gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt
I had to look it up though, I didn't know it offhand
One at the north end of his land and one at the south end. This is the jeroboam that was Solomon's son. It did not take long for them turn from God did it?
