A few comments on the fifth seal, chapter 6,...."the Altar." Christ is both "Temple" and "Altar" in whom the faithful worship. "They cried." ..."The day of vengeance ," is when Christ returns.
"White robes." An intimation of their acceptance and exaltation to the Devine nature in the day of judgment because of their righteousness.
"Rest yet a little season.""Sleep in the dust of the earth" until the resurrection morning, when all the true and faithful witnesses shall be avenged and glorified together...The Diocletian persecution or"Era of Martyrs" of early Christian annals, dating from his accession in A.D. 284, is the main subject of the vision.
