Verse 1: "And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran."
Verses 37-38: "But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone. And it came to pass about ten days after, that Yahweh smote Nabal, that he died."
This chapter tells us of the death of two men: Samuel and Nabal. They were both great in their own way. The greatness of Samuel we know, and Nabal was esteemed great because he had an abundance of wealth. One man was wise, the other was a fool. Quite a contrast.
